Adjustment - what is it?

 Here are some examples of adjusting and optimizing playability - depending on guitar/instrument type;
String heights are measured at the 1st fret and the saddle is modified/adjusted.
String heights are measured and bridge/saddle is modified/adjusted to possible/desired height.
Neck curvature adjustment.
Check for belt wear.
Polishing of tape.
Filing sharp belt ends.
Gluing loose tapes.
Changing strings and cleaning/oiling the fretboard.
String radius adjustment.
Adjusting intonation.
Adjusting pickup heights.
Balancing pickups.
Check/tighten screws, nuts and bolts.
