The Boss FZ-1w is a 60s inspired silicon fuzz from the Boss Waza Craft series. The FZ-1w has two different fuzz modes, modern and vintage. Vintage provides a more velocity sensitive fuzz tone that responds well to volume knob roll-off, while modern has a fuller and thicker wall-of-sound fuzz sound. Many who have tried vintage fuzz effect pedals know about the often lacking tone controls where there is either too much bass or too much treble, but it can be difficult to find the right blend. Boss has solved this by equipping the FZ-1w with a powerful tone control that takes hold so you can hear it.
