Donner Dumbal Drive – Boutique-inspired overdrive with D-style character
The Donner Dumbal Drive is an analog overdrive pedal designed to recreate the magic of the legendary Dumble amps – some of the most sought-after and rare boutique amps in music history. The Dumbal Drive delivers a dynamic, tube-like response with everything from transparent clean boost to warm, rich overdrive. It’s a pedal that lets your guitar and amp shine – without masking their natural character.
What is a D-style sound?
D-style refers to the sound of Dumble amps, hand-built by Californian engineer Alexander “Howard” Dumble. These amps were known for their extreme dynamics, natural compression and warm overdrive – and used by artists such as Larry Carlton, Robben Ford and John Mayer. The Dumble Drive draws its sound directly from this tradition, delivering a rich, responsive tone that reacts subtly to your playing – just like a real tube amp.
Flexible sound shaping and control
The Dumbal Drive features three clipping modes and two EQ types, so you can easily tailor its character to your setup and style. Whether you're looking for a subtle boost, a rich crunch, or a lead sound with glow, the Dumbal Drive has the tools for it.
Built for the pedalboard
With its rugged aluminum construction, true bypass, and compact size, this pedal is as ready for the road as it is for the practice room, delivering authentic analog sound with modern reliability.
