guitaRF functions as an RF (Reflexion Filter®), an isolator, a dual microphone stand and fine-tuning hardware for both your preferred large-diaphragm condenser or ribbon microphone and a dynamic or small-diaphragm microphone. All in one piece of equipment, with the ability to perfectly phase-align the two capsules for maximum effect.

For years, some of our biggest FOH engineering clients (running sound for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Black Sabbath, Paramore, My Morning Jacket and more) have known that a Reflexion Filter in front of their amp cabinets can help reduce stage noise leaking into the guitar mics. This is especially true for some of our favorite guitar mics like the VR1 and RNR1 ribbon mics, as they naturally have a figure-of-8 pattern that makes them sensitive to everything else going on on stage. It doesn’t just help the FOH mix. Using an RF on a guitar cabinet or drums can make the multitrack of a live performance significantly easier to mix.

Acoustically, the guitaRF is very similar to our best-selling RF-X, with a four-layer acoustic filter design consisting of a vented outer composite plate, a layer of acoustic wool, an air layer that helps with low-frequency isolation, and an inner layer of acoustic foam. The guitaRF also features an integrated grommet with a rubberized grip surface that securely holds virtually any dynamic or small-diaphragm microphone on the market.
