Popular and brilliant for beginners
Handpans are becoming more and more popular these years, and there are several good reasons for that.
One of them is definitely the clear, flowing and atmospheric sound of handpans, which has a calming effect and can therefore be used both therapeutically and meditatively.
Another, and important, reason is that a handpan is very easy to play, and therefore will give you successful experiences right from the start – even if you have never played a handpan before, or have other musical experiences and talents to draw on. All the notes on a handpan harmonize with each other, and it therefore does not matter which notes are played simultaneously, the sound will always be harmonious. Therefore, everyone will experience success and good results on their handpan after just a few minutes of practice.

How do you do it?
The Shelter HP55 D handpan is played by striking the differently tuned playing surfaces, either with your hands or the included mallets. The technique for playing a handpan is, as mentioned, relatively easy to learn: The playing surface is struck briefly with the fingertips or mallets, and the faster the hand or mallets are pulled away, the more beautiful the tone becomes.
The central main tone of a handpan is in the middle, around which the choir of sound fields is arranged in a circle. The individual playing surfaces are under compressive stress, and are carefully tuned in a manual process where the sound fields are knocked out. When the sound fields are struck, the entire handpan is set into vibration, producing a linear, clear tone with singing and long sustain.
A handpan can be played on your lap or on the included tripod stand.

Please note: Since handpans are made by hand, you can expect possible slight deviations from the product image.
